The story behind the name

I have always loved sea glass because of the beautiful green, blue and brown hues that are made even more breathtaking when they are tossed in the water. I am also drawn to pretty glass bottles, especially those with unique shapes, textures or stories. When we purchased our land, it had lot of garbage where our driveway now sits. Included in this garbage were lots of glass bottles in all different shapes, sizes and colors. As unappealing as this may sound, there have been many beautiful and unique glass bottles found at the property. While we obviously do not want to drive on a green glass road, the road itself was only made possible after lots of green glass was recovered. So therin lies the story behind the name of the Adventures at Green Glass Road.

REALLLLLLLY close....

Last week we had our final plumbing and grading inspections. Both were painless and resulted in two more signatures towards our final inspection.

Today, was the final inspection. In general, all went pretty well. The inspector told us that we need to do a few additional things, but only the handrail for the front stairs needs to be complete before we call him back out for the re-inspection. Even more exciting is the fact that he said that we can start moving our stuff in, so that after the re-inspect, we can start living there! Of course there is still quite a bit of packing for me to do, but that will get done in due time, too.

Last weekend Keith, Ronnie and Craig worked on doors and floors. As you can see, they made quite a bit of progress in both areas. This weekend more doors and floors will go in and then the rest (like painting 26 doors, and window and door trim)will just have to get finished-up in bits and pieces as we are living there. I guess that is what they made winters for-right"?!
